Young Women Union in al-Tabqa defies illiteracy

Young Women Union in al-Tabqa has announced the opening of literacy courses to educate the women who have been deprived of studying in schools.

Young Women Union in al-Tabqa has launched literacy courses to educate the women who have been deprived of their rights of education, especially during the IS’ occupation of the area. The courses would take place in al-Tabqa Youth Center in the middle of the city, and registration will begin on Tuesday.

Through these courses, Young Women Union in al-Tabqa hopes to consolidate the achievements of the Euphrates’ women and teach them how to read and write as the first step in raising their awareness and culture after the Union has seen through its meetings the desire of women to learn.

The members of the union distributed brochures on all vital institutions and centers, including the Central Market in al-Tabqa.

It is noteworthy that after the liberation of al-Tabqa, the city witnessed a special leap in terms of education and the women’s turnout to learn. This led Young Women Union in al-Tabqa to repel the danger of illiteracy spread among women in the category of the older age.
