Lack of water inside Ain Issa camp, administration seeks to find a solution

Refugees Ain Issa's camp severely suffer from a severe water shortage that the refugees complain about, but the camp administration pledged to solve the problem and asked the organizations to help them

Summer season has come and the area suffers from scorching temperature in Ain Issa district belonging to Girê Spî /Tel-Abyed posing a dire need of water which is considered key to sustaining life.

About 13,000 refugees living in Ain Issa camp from various Syrian regions is witnessing severe water shortages amid high temperature.

The western section of Ain Issa is currently suffering from water shortages as displaced people lack adequate amounts of water.

The Camp's administration in coordination with al-Raqqa Civil Council has completed a project to distribute large water tanks, distributing large amounts of water within each sector.

Since the beginning of the summer, each person in tent in the camp has allocation of 25 liters of water a day so that the displaced do not suffer while they are getting water.

Despite the availability of 25 liters of water per person in the camp, the displaced complain that this percentage does not cover their daily needs of drinking and washing.

During the tour of Hawar news agency (ANHA) inside the camp, the refugees demanded the concerned authorities and the camp’s administration to provide them water and distribute them to all the tanks at a good rate to cover their daily needs.

The displaced also stressed that they lacked water, so disputes arose during the operations.

The head of the Camp's Administration Committee Jalal Ayaf told (ANHA) in response to the question of why the camp suffers from a lack of water, and why were 25 liters of water allocated per family? Ayaf said “Before we determine the water level for each tent, we discovered that the displaced are wasting water, and for us the water is of great value as we suffer until we get this large percentage for the entire camp. Therefore, we resorted to allocating 25 liters per person

Jalal Ayaf pointed out that they are seeking to provide more water for displaced people and increase the working hours of the pump in the camp. "Having some dysfunctions in the pump and not working well will delay the provision of water in the appropriate quantities inside the camp for a period of time."

Ayaf asked the concerned authorities to help them and provide them with the necessary needs for the displaced.
