ISF destroys dormant cells in al-Raqqa, undertakes to ensure safety to people

IS mercenary tried in the past few days to motivate its dormant cells in al-Raqqa city to strike safety and stability in conjunction with Ramadan month and the approaching of Eid al-Fitr.

The Internal Security Forces ISF in al-Raqqa city was able to liquidate elements of dormant cell that moved towards a Syrian Democratic Forces’ checkpoint. ISF, which monitored the mercenary gangs was able to pursue them in al-Rumaila neighborhood and liquidate a dormant cell in al-Naeim roundabout.

The dormant cell's gangs had carried out a suicide attack on a motorcycle near al- Panorama checkpoint on Tuesday.

The administrator in ISF Ammar al-Abo said that what IS mercenaries are doing by mobilizing their cells inside al-Raqqa city is only to destabilize the security and stability of the city, coinciding with the return of the people and the approaching Eid al-Fitr.

"We in the internal security and in cooperation with the Syrian democratic Forces have addressed these cells and eliminated them, without any damage or loss." According to al-Abou, the gangs of dormant cells were Algerian and Tunisian nationalities.

Al-Abou has promised of a precautionary measure during Eid al-Fitr period would ensure security and stability, including preventing the entry of large trucks and motorcycles into the city.

Ammar al-Abou appealed to the people of al-Raqqa city to cooperate with the Internal Security Forces and to inform of any suspicious movements inside the city.
