This came in a dialogue with the Secretary General of Kurdistan Liberal Union, Abeer Hassaf, on the demographic change processes taking place in Syria under Russian - Turkish auspices, and the intervention of regional and international powers in the crisis. The following is the text of the interview:

* Russia, Turkey and Iran sign agreements whereby the Syrian people were displaced and the demography of the area has changed. What happened in Afrin is an example of that. What are the goals of these parties of demographic change?

The Syrian crisis has entered its 8th year, and the situation is becoming increasingly complicated as a result of external interventions in this situation until the crisis emerged from the framework of the Syrian people. If we go back we can divide the Syrian crisis into three stages, the first stage was at the start of the revolution calling for freedom and the spread of peace.

After the intervention of Turkey, Russia and Iran in the Syrian situation, the crisis moved to the second phase, which derailed the revolution from the main goal and made Syria a center for the gathering of militants seeking to implement the interests of the three countries. By the Turkish occupation of Afrin, the Syrian crisis entered the third stage, the occupation of Afrin revealed the mask of those countries and the objectives of intervention and its pursuit of personal interests without thinking to resolve the crisis and find a solution that satisfies the Syrian people.

What are the risks of demographic change and displacement on the Syrian situation in the future?

The processes of demographic change and displacement in the Syrian arena will complicate the crisis more and result in more complex and useless results and will become like Kirkuk case several years ago when they displaced the main Kurdish people and replace them with the people of the South where we note that so far the forces cannot resolve Kirkuk crisis, as well as the situation of Afrin will be exactly the same as the situation in Kirkuk, but a contract that will be the most complex, and the settlers will not be outside of Afrin, Kurdish people will not accept and could not live in peace within it.

* Russia, Turkey and Iran are trying to make alternative meetings for Geneva. Is this possible?

Russia, through the meetings of Astana seeks to control the political process in Syria, and was assisted by Turkey and Iran, these parties brought together all the mercenaries and terrorist gangs in Idlib through these meetings, and guided them according to their interests, and have succeeded so far, after Astana, it sought to hold Sochi meeting, but the meeting did not succeed because it was held three days after the Turkish aggression on Afrin.

But everyone should know that there is no political solution without the participation of all countries under the supervision of United Nations and with all the Syrian parties and the forces on the ground, especially the Kurdish people.

* In light of the conflicting interests of the parties involved in Syria. Where is the crisis going?

The agencies’ war in Syria has ended, and the masks of all the intervening countries that work for their interests have been revealed, the interference of countries has become direct, so the situation in Syria is going to deteriorate more and more, states intervention opens the door to sectarian wars. That is to say, the Syrian crisis emerged from the framework of the Syrian state.

In light of these developments, how are the Syrian people required to resolve this crisis?

The Syrian crisis is no longer in Syrian's hands as a result of the intervention of the regional and international forces in it. However, whatever wars took place in Syria, everyone should realize that wars do not bring peace, these wars will not end in the intra-Syrian dialogue on one negotiating table, the Syrian people are concerned with finding a political solution to this crisis, so it must see the forces that have a democratic project in North Syria, because it can be the Syrian crisis.
