Ain Dewar's municipality solved drinking water problems in three villages

Ain Dewar council began the rehabilitation of a second well for drinking water in al-Zuhairiya village to solve the problem of water shortage in the village, coinciding with Summer season.

Al-Zuhairiya village is located on the Turkish border 17 kilometers east of Derik city and is divided into 3 villages where more than 250 families are living in these village of Arab and Kurdish components.

Residents of three villages of Zuhairiya (al-Zuhairiya al-Qadima, Zuhairiya al-Jadida and al-Salamiyya) depend on one well for drinking water, which increased the suffering of the people during the summer.

At the request of the three villages' communes,  Ain Dewar council installed a new pump to draw water from the new well in the village.

Sadiq Haj Yunis, a member of the Executive Committee of the People's Municipality in Ain Dewar said "We found that it is necessary to find a suitable solution as summer season, and pumping drinking water to the three villages, and a pump was installed on the second well in al-Zuhairiya village to deliver drinking water to the people."
