Health Committee's accomplishments in al-Raqqa since its opening

The Health Committee, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, launched a poliovirus vaccination campaign in July 2017, including al-Raqqa's liberated rural at the age of five-year-old children, 105,000 children were vaccinated out of a total of 120,000 children, in addition to an awareness and health education campaign.

Another campaign for polio vaccine was launched in October 2017, with 130,000 children out of a total of 145,000 children vaccinated and a monovalent poliovirus vaccine on 14 January 2018, ended on 19 January accompanied with a campaign of health education.

In March 2018, the committee has launched a double-paralyzed polio vaccine campaign that ended in the same month, accompanied by a health education campaign with a total of 175,600 children out of a total of 180,000.

Forming committees, granting licenses to pharmacies, hospitals and controlling violations

In addition to the vaccination campaigns, the committee worked on forming a committee to identify the existing pharmacies working in al-Raqqa's rural areas, controlling the violations and obtaining the necessary licenses, and the number of licensed pharmacies reached 150 pharmacies, eight drug stores, 36 pharmacies were closed and six pharmacies were closed and one laboratory was licensed.

In addition, licenses were granted to private hospitals in al-Kasra village and al-Hawas area "Khas Habal" al-Mashhadani Hospital, Dar al-Shifa Hospital and the Specialized Euphrates Hospital within al-Raqqa city.

The committee also opened medical points in "Ain Issa camp, Hamra Naser and al-kasrat" in cooperation with al-Mawada Charity Association.

The health center in al-Mushlab neighborhood in al-Raqqa city, and al- Khatouniya and the medicines provision and medical equipment were activated.

Rehabilitation of health centers

The Health Committee of al-Raqqa Civil Council has rehabilitated Saif al-Dawlah Health Center to re-activate the blood bank in addition to provide medical staff, al-Rasheid Health Center was rehabilitated in cooperation with the Kurdish Red Crescent Society and the Italian UPP organization, while the rehabilitation of nursing school in al-Raqqa will be opened as an emergency center

Rehabilitation of the National Hospital

The health committee visited the National Hospital after cleaning it of the mines by the engineering teams in Syrian Democratic Forces, where some medicines, medical supplies and devices were taken out to benefit from activating some health centers and preparing a comprehensive and detailed study for the rehabilitation of the National Hospital.

"We are continuing to provide medical services to citizens, despite the limited capabilities available to us," said Ahmed al-Khalil, the Health Committee head.
