Three siblings… Complete the path they took to liberate Afrin

In 2011, Mohammed Rasolo and Mirvan Rasolo first joined in the revolutionary movement in Rojava. Their first stations were the People Protection Units, then, then, their younger sister Fatima Rasolo joined. The three siblings complete the path they have taken so far.

The brothers Mohammed Rasolo, whose nom de guerre is Ararat Akri, Marfan Rasolo (Botan Çiya) and Fatima Rasolo (Ronahi Botan), born in Kafrdala village belonging to Janders district in Afrin canton were born and raised among a patriotic and revolutionary family with a strong struggle for the Kurdish cause.

The story of the three siblings is one of the thousands of stories that have taken place in Afrin since the beginning of Rojava revolution.

Ararat and Botan now in the ranks the People Protection Units (YPG) were among the first joiners to the Autonomous Protection Units of the People in 2011 at the beginning of revolutionary movement in Rojava.

After the formation of People Protection Units (YPG) in 2012, the siblings participated in the fighting frontlines in Aleppo and Afrin on the fronts of Diwa village in Janders area  and Qastal Jandu in Shara district in 2013, aiming to respond attacks of the Daesh gangs and Turkey’s gangs. 

Their sister, Ronahi, who was younger than a few years old, was not allowed to be a fighter, but she was determined to take part in the fighting alongside her two brothers and was awaiting to get 18 years to join the ranks.

Ronahi was influenced by martyr Çekdar, who was martyred by some traitors in the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) in Afrin in 2012, and then by the martyr Ronahi, who martyred in the front of Janders district in 2013, where she chose the name Ronahi Çekdar as nom de guerre for her.

Ronahi joined to Women Protection Unit in 2015, having completed her legal age.

The participation of the three siblings in Resistance of the Age

The fighter Ararat, who is the oldest was confronting in Mobabta district and resisted along with his comrades in Badina, Kahkra,Shitika villages in the face of the military aircraft of the Turkish occupation army, where he was joined in the battles to liberate Badina village which was exposed to much destruction due to the shelling the Turkish occupation twice.

The other brother Botan was stationed in Shara district, where he was injured there by the Turkish air force bombing near his points. He received treatment at Afrin hospital at the time, but he did not leave his comrades, so he returned to be near his comrades on the fronts.

Ronahi was in Janders district, accompanied by one of the leaders of Women Protection Units (YPJ) where Ronahi had a great role in rescuing her fighters, and rescuing the injured; Ronahi did not hesitate to work on the fronts.

During the Resistance of the Age, the siblings were always in contact; they encourage each other .The leaders in People and Women Protection Units (YPG, YPJ) asked them to return home, but they are always refusing. The siblings were urging each other to continue to resist.

Perhaps their parents, Ibrahim Rasolo and Hevin Rasolo, who had only their youngest daughter, who was only 14 years old, They support their children moralism and strength, saying that they were proud of them.

Their mother, Hevin Rasolo, expressed her pride in what her children are doing for their country, stressing that she has great hope of returning to Afrin by the efforts of her children and fellow fighters.

Their common motto: We make sacrifice for Afrin

The three siblings resisted the sophisticated and heavy weapons and the warplanes of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, and lost their comrades on the fronts, who became their source of determination and will in the struggle against the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries.

They assured in their statements to Hawar news agency (ANHA) that they were fighting the warplanes with light weapons, and that the flight did not leave a place or a house but bombarded and destroyed and left the martyrs and victims among the civilians as well.

The three brothers are now resisting in al-Shahba canton, and the siblings said that they will participate in the liberation campaign of their city of the Turkish occupation army.
