The Plant Protection Department is considered one of the most important sections according to the specialists in this regard. Its importance comes from being responsible for the detection of plant and crop diseases in the area and giving the appropriate pesticides names to farmers who suffering from their lands.
One of the most important diseases discovered in the region which the department seeks to cure, Rust, a disease of wheat and barley crops, the effects of high temperature and humidity at the same time, causing damage to the crops in the upper limit.
There is also the disease caused by the insect, "Suna" is a small insect with a sucking mouth where it suck and eat the content of wheat grain.
 Crop diseases in the area include wilt diseases affecting legumes and often require specific fertilizers depending on soil type.
This section, despite its modernity, requires a range of equipment and machinery to ensure continuity and quality of work, such as plant testing and soil testing equipment, as well as micro-microscopes for the detection of vegetation-related pests in general.
It is worth mentioning that plant protection because of its importance is taught as a special section in the colleges of agriculture in all countries of the world because of the important tasks to maintain the vegetation cover.
