Shirko Hasaka: SDF liberated 30 km of ISIS east of Euphrates River

This came during an interview conducted by Hawar news agency with the leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces Sherko Hasaka to talk about the latest developments of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign, especially after the liberation of al-Bagouz village.

"From the beginning of the resumption of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign on 1 May, we were able to liberate more than 23 kilometers from Badia, with the liberation of al-Bagouz the strategic village, we were able to liberate 30 kilometers, the campaign was by a coordinate between Syrian Democratic Forces and the Iraqi forces in the border strip and the other areas which liberated during al-Jazeera Tempest campaign.

Sherko said that SDF and the Iraqi army were able to clear the Syrian-Iraqi border and liberate Deir ez-Zor completely by setting up checkpoints on the border so that they could control the border.

He stressed that SDF have fought fierce battles with IS mercenaries east of the Euphrates, especially in al-Bagouz the strategy village, which is the link between Syria and Iraq and the main entrance to Hajin town" the last areas of ISIS presence.

"Bagouz village, liberated by Syrian Democratic Forces, is the last border point, while coordination between Syrian Democratic Forces and the Iraqi army will continue until the liberation of Hajin town," said Sherko Hasaka

At the end of his speech, the leader Sherko Hasaka said that the engineering teams of Syrian Democratic Forces will continue to clean up the area of ​​mines planted by IS mercenaries in the Badia and the other areas until they are completely cleaned.
