Russian Sputnik agency reported the Syrian Interior Minister Muhamad al-Shaar’s statement that included the intention of the Baathist regime to change Syrian identification cards, but state-related media outlets later refuted this.

It is crystal clear that the regime aims by this step to implement the demographic change that is being carried out in all the Syrian cities and deprive 7 million Syrians from the nationality, those were the ones displaced by the regime’s barrels, tanks, and artillery seeking to give a legal form to the demographic change.

Besides, all the mercenary gangs, known as supporting forces the regime depended on during its war against the Syrian people, will be granted the Syrian nationality, the thing politicians named as “outrageous deception.”

In this regard, the co-chair of the Civil Records related to the Interior Committee in al-Tabqa area Adnan al-Hussein described this step as filthy.

Adnan al-Hussein stated “this step, if taken, will contribute to the demographic change carried out in Syria as a huge number of the Syrian people will be deprived of these IDs since they reside outside the regime-held areas, particularly thousands of the displaced outside Syria.

In a message sent through Hawar news agency, Adnan said “On behalf of the components living on the Syrian land, we reject all kinds of discrimination, persecution, exclusion, displacing, and demographic change carried out by the regime against the Syrian people, as Syria’s peoples are one hand, and their unity is deep as it springs from the martyrs’ blood.”
