Economic Committee of al-Tabqa begins rehabilitation Abu Qubeh poultry

Abo Qubeh Poultry site consist of 9 units and each unit consists of two wooden rooms, the total of 18 wooden rooms, the size of each room is 100 meters length and 10 meters width and each room can accommodate 15 thousand chickens.

As for the ground breeding 8 rooms are dedicated to growing up ovulate chickens and two rooms are dedicated to breeding (chicks) to become ovulate chickens as well as for breeding in cages.

After the occupation of IS mercenaries of al-Tabqa area, poultry site exposed to looting of full equipment, cages and feed that were present as well as more than 65 thousand chickens were presented.

The mercenary gangs took control of the site and turned it into a military barracks and training camps, due to its large size and its large number of buildings and trees, it occupies more than 20 hectares and contains more than 22,000 trees, the thing which making it vulnerable to repeated air strikes and artillery by the regime forces which were stationed at al-Tabqa's military airport at the time, which led to great destruction in some rooms.

After the control of IS mercenaries on the site, ruin reached to high levels and the mercenaries booby-trapped and blow up 3 rooms completely as well as partial damage to the rest in an earlier period of their occupation of the area before defeating them completely at the hands of fighters of Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF).

Economic Committee has pointed out that this site has great importance to what may contribute to its support for the area's economy in the case has been re-qualification as well as achieving environmental balance through the rehabilitation of more than 22 thousand fruit trees at the site, which was also part of the plans.

In an interview with ANHA, the Co-chair of Economics Committee of Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa Ahmed Suleiman stressed that the Committee has developed a plan for the maintenance of 15 rooms suffered partial sabotage and other plan developed to start a project of poultry both types of ovulate and broiler.

On the importance of this project, Sulaiman said: "For the project it creates a state of stability in the consumption of the market by securing the main material of eggs and chickens.
