The US House of Representatives passed a resolution calling for Iran to be held accountable for its human rights abuses and hostage-taking.

The US House of Representatives voted in favor of resolution calling for Iran to be held accountable for human rights abuses and hostage-taking.
The resolution, submitted by four members of the Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, calls for sanctions against the Iranian government and those responsible for human rights abuses and the detention of US citizens.
The resolution which must be voted on by the Senate or a modified version, requests a report on senior officials who have committed human rights violations in Iran within 170 days of the resolution 's entry into implementation.
