14 centers in NE Syria will celebrate Newroz 2024

In NE Syria, preparations continue to celebrate Newroz 2024, which will be organized under the slogan: “Freedom for Leader Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue,” according to the Popular Initiative of NE Syria.

According to the information, the central celebrations will be held in “Qamishlo, Hasaka, Derik, Amuda, Tirbespiyê, Girkê Legê, Raqqa, Tabqa, Deir ez-Zor, Kobani, Manbij, Shahba, Aleppo and Al-Darbasiyah.”

All the main streets and markets in the cities and districts of NE Syria are decorated with the flags of the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, the People’s Protection Units (YPG), the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Internal Security Forces, and pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Artistic teams are also preparing to participate in the celebrations with dance, singing and theater groups.

The administrator at the Aram Dikran Center for Culture and Art in Rmelan, and a member of the folkloric dance group, Zaffin Abbas, says, “With the approaching of Newroz, we, as artistic teams, have begun to intensify our preparations where the teams receive training to participate in the celebrations.”

The tailor Masoum Ibrahim from Çil Agha district, who is distinguished by sewing Kurdish folkloric costumes, says, “This year is characterized by a noticeable demand by the people, especially young men and women to sew Kurdish costumes more than previous years.”
