The Zerkan City Council issued a statement to the public today following the martyrdom of Sipan Hazni, a fighter in the Hasakah Brigade, after he was abducted by an armed group.

The statement was read before the city council in both Kurdish and Arabic by council members Fayez Isso and Heba Ahmi.

The council described what happened to Sipan Hazni as a “heinous crime” that violates humanitarian and moral values as well as religious norms.

The statement said such criminal acts aim to spread chaos and destruction and undermine the stability of the region.

The Zerkan City Council strongly condemned the crime and called for an immediate investigation and accountability for those responsible.

Sipan Hazni, a fighter in the Hasakah Brigade, was martyred yesterday after being abducted by an armed group and taken to the village of Adlana in the countryside of Serêkaniyê.
