A Turkish occupation drone targeted a vehicle on the road between Amuda and Qamishlo, near the village of Ghazalika in the Jazira district, on Thursday evening (October 3), resulting in the martyrdom of two civilians (a man and a woman).

In response, the Zenobia Women's Council, Idlib's Green Council, and the Syrian Women's Council denounced the Turkish occupation's attacks on North and East Syria in a statement delivered by the Zenobia Women's Council today.

The council's statement, read by Fatima Mohammed, member of the Council's Reconciliation Committee, highlighted that the Turkish occupation continues to commit heinous crimes against the people of North and East Syria amid international silence.

It noted that these crimes are often dismissed as "reactions to bouts of anger" without any punishment or accountability. The statement added, "In fact, the killers may even be awarded medals of honor by a society that oppresses and abuses women."

The Zenobia Women's Council called for urgent action on the ground to stop the violence and genocidal attacks against women, affirming that this is just the beginning of a long journey of struggle against all aggressors. The council emphasized that women's organizations must take the necessary measures to stop the atrocities committed against women and ensure justice for them.
