Journalist Zanar Yildiz spoke to ANHA's agency about the results of the 12th congress of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the ongoing process, and the necessity of explaining and revealing the process.

Zanar Yıldız mentioned that if one wants to understand the reasons behind the outcomes of the PKK conference, they should go back to the beginning of the PKK's emergence and see the conditions under which the PKK appeared. After World War I, a policy was adopted towards the Kurds that primarily relied on the capitalist hegemony policies led by the British, French, and German states. Through these policies, the approach in the Middle East was determined, the status of the Kurds was clarified, they were divided among the four regional nation-states, and a policy of denial and solution was followed, which was based on the establishment of a nation-state that would eliminate the Kurdish people. In response to these massacres committed against the people, numerous uprisings broke out, including 28 in Northern Kurdistan alone.

Zanar Yıldız pointed out that as a result of the people's resistance, the PKK uprising led by Abdullah Ocalan began in the late 1970s as an expression of the resistance of the Kurdish people. The PKK received significant attention and support from the people and adopted a strict policy against the crimes committed against the people. The PKK demonstrated the true interests of the people in Kurdistan and ended the nationalist state's policies against the Kurds from 1978 to 1998, awakening the Kurds.

Zanar Yıldız pointed out that leader Abdullah Ocalan began preparing his defenses in the first decade of the 21st century. With this step, leader Abdullah Ocalan opened a significant door for change for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), as well as a wide door and light that illuminated the people of the Middle East. The PKK also made changes to its model, dissolved itself in 2002, and expanded its organization in 2004 and 2005. During this process, there were international interventions, and an internal liquidation process emerged within the PKK, aimed at returning it to its previous system and integrating it into the capitalist system.

The PKK re-established itself to protect the values and struggle it had fought.

Zanar Yıldız considered that the dissolution of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) does not mean its end, as the party's opposing side insisted on policies of denial and destruction, leading to the repetition and continuation of the war. Leader Abdullah Ocalan has always sought to change this situation. He continued, saying: "The state has always been the party that could not bring about change in this process, and the question now is: To what extent can the state change itself in this process? In this process, we see that the Nationalist Movement Party, which strongly insisted on this old model of the state, is the one that initiated it."

Zanar Yildiz mentioned that if leader Abdullah Ocalan had not found the state's insistence, he would not have made this call. He explained that he believes the policies of denial will be put to an end, and the state will deal with democracy in a sensitive manner. The state will provide a fundamental space for the democracy of the peoples within the laws, and this space is not only for the Kurdish people but for all peoples.

Zinar Yıldız continued his speech, pointing to the necessity of explaining and clarifying the process to the people. As a result of the Turkish state's violent language and actions over the past twenty years, which have led to numerous massacres against the Kurdish people under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the process is still not fully understood by both the Kurdish and Turkish people. Therefore, this process must be thoroughly discussed among the people, and the people must change this mentality created by the state.

He concluded his speech by saying: "The political sphere has a role to play in bringing about change, and it must reach all segments of society. What is this process? Why did it begin and what are its causes? And how will it end? These are questions that must be answered. Currently, there is a gap between the people and the process, and the people are not fully in harmony with it. The role of the media is also important, as it is the main tool for reaching society. Journalists should follow this process even more than the war and inform public opinion about it."
