YRA congratulates Star FM Radio on its 9th anniversary

Marking nine years since the establishment of Star FM Radio, the Free Media Union (YRA) issued a statement commending its media role as a voice for women and life, and as a free platform that has boldly and consistently conveyed women’s concerns and community issues to the airwaves.

The statement noted that since its launch on December 15, 2017, from the city of Tirbespiyê, Star FM Radio has represented a pioneering media experience that embodied the spirit of the Women’s Revolution in North and East Syria, expressing women’s aspirations, struggle, and creativity, culminating in its return today to the city of Qamishlo to begin a new phase after years of dedication and hard work.

The YRA pointed out that nine years of broadcasting have been rich with cultural, political, social, and artistic programs, driven by the efforts of women who believe that free media is a tool for change and for building a more just society.

It affirmed that Star FM has been, and continues to be, a media space for women and a shining hallmark in the journey of women-led free media.

In conclusion, the YRA saluted all female colleagues working at Star FM Radio, wished them success and brilliance in their new launch from Qamishlo, and stressed the importance of the radio’s continued role as an honest voice reaching every woman and every home.
