Young man killed, others injured in rocket attack on Al-Majdal, Sweida

A young man was killed and others injured in a rocket attack on the village of Al-Majdal in Sweida, at a time when the area witnessed a series of field breaches carried out by the Interim Government forces toward the western fronts of the city.

The young man, Rani Basil Naeem, in his thirties, was killed about half an hour ago after his village, Al-Majdal, northwest of Sweida city, was targeted by a rocket fired from a launcher belonging to Interim Government forces stationed in the western villages, according to sources.

Sources reported that the attack also injured three other people with minor, scattered injuries.

The National Guard Command had previously announced a series of field breaches carried out since the morning until the afternoon by Interim Government forces toward the western fronts of Sweida. The breaches included machine gun fire, mortar shells, and the use of drones in attempts to destabilize the area.

The command stated that the attacking forces targeted Al-Majdal town with eight mortar shells that landed within residential areas, followed by infiltration attempts by groups positioned in Al-Mazra’a town.
