Residents of the village of Al-Barjan in the Jableh countryside staged a peaceful protest today following the killing of a young man from the village and the injury of another. The two were attacked by gunmen while working on farmland near the village earlier in the morning.

Protesters demanded that the attackers be identified and held accountable, stressing that such incidents have been recurring without any clear action from the relevant authorities.

This public outcry reflects the anger and fear among locals over the repeated targeted killings, as they call for enhanced security in the area and protection for civilians.

On June 26, two young men were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on the road between Beit Yashout and the Al-Ghab area while working in an agricultural field. Their bodies were found at the Halat Ara village junction in a similar incident.
