Young man arrested amid Israeli incursions in southern Syria

Israeli forces arrested a young man from the village of Ain Zivan in the southern countryside of Quneitra shortly after midnight on Monday, during a military incursion involving around 10 military vehicles. The operation included raids on several homes before the forces withdrew from the area, according to local sources speaking to ANHA agency.

Israeli vehicles also advanced into the area of Tal al-Dariyat west of the village of Al-Muallaqa in southern Quneitra countryside, a former Syrian military position located near the 1974 disengagement line, as part of repeated military movements in the area in recent times.

This comes alongside ongoing bulldozing operations carried out by Israeli forces around Tal Akasha near the village of Bariqa in southern Quneitra countryside, as part of the fortification project known as “Sova 53,” which runs along the separation line with the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

In the western countryside of Daraa, a fire broke out in wheat and barley fields in the villages of Al-Masritiyeh and Saisoun in the Yarmouk Basin area, following Israeli artillery shelling accompanied by gunfire. The affected area was estimated at around 3 dunams of farmland, according to the Syrian Civil Defense.

Quneitra and Daraa provinces continue to witness repeated Israeli incursions involving raids, arrests, and military movements near the separation line, amid growing concerns over escalating tensions in the southern border regions of Syria.
