On Tuesday, emergency response teams in Tell Tamer, with the assistance of local residents, successfully contained two fires that broke out on agricultural lands in the southern and western parts of the city. This comes amid a surge in wildfires across the region, coinciding with the harvest season and rising temperatures.

The first fire broke out on agricultural land in the village of Tell Jedaya, south of Tell Tamer city, causing approximately 5 dunams of barley crops to burn.

Emergency teams immediately rushed to the fire scene, where they worked in collaboration with local residents to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby fields before successfully extinguishing the fire completely.

In another incident, a fire broke out on agricultural land in Tell Hamam village, west of the city, prompting emergency response teams to intervene immediately upon arrival. The involvement of local residents further accelerated efforts to contain the blaze and prevent its spread, significantly reducing the extent of damage.

Emergency response teams emphasized that swift action and close collaboration with local residents played a crucial role in preventing the fires from spreading to larger agricultural areas, especially given the dry vegetation and remaining crop residues that facilitate rapid fire propagation.

Emergency response teams in Tell Tamer continue their efforts to swiftly address agricultural crop fires that are increasing during the harvest season, amid farmers calls for taking urgent preventive measures and immediately reporting any fire incidents to help minimize losses.
