Dozens of members of women's movements and organizations in Raqqa canton gathered in front of Al-Naeem Roundabout to make a statement to public opinion, which was read by the co-chair of the Social Affairs and Labor Authority for the Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region, Maryam Al-Ibrahim, which read:

“In the name of women’s movements and organizations in the liberated areas, and from all components (Arab, Kurdish, Syriac, Circassian, Turkmen, and Chechen), we stand in solidarity today with the International Campaign for the Yazidi Women’s Movement, which it launched on March 8 (International Women’s Day) under the slogan, “Be the voice of protection against the genocide of women.”

Through their statement, the women's organizations condemned "all the systematic genocides and policies committed by terrorist groups against all Yazidi women in the countries of the Middle East in general and Syria, which is going through a complex crisis, and through which the national states that support the extremist factions and organizations (ISIS) that practiced the ugliest methods of violence, oppression and slavery had the opportunity." On the women of the region, including Yazidi women, as they were captured, sold in slave markets, and stoned to death, and we saw all the violations and brutal practices that have no connection to humanity or mercy.”

The statement added: “Today, from the land of Raqqa, the land of the Euphrates, and from this geographical spot, which is the greatest evidence and witness to what happened and is happening against all peoples, including children and Yazidi women, who were fought, tortured, and killed under the pretext of religion, and at the same time it was for us a starting point towards women’s liberation and to break the chains of slavery that shackled her and robbed her of her legitimate rights and will.”

She stressed: “With the arrival of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women’s Protection Units, the sun of freedom shone from this place, transforming it from the roundabout of hell into the roundabout of bliss "al-Naeem", and the women’s revolution was achieved through the leadership of the Kurdish and Yazidi women who resisted and did not surrender to raise the banner of victory and eliminate the monsters of darkness in Raqqa, and after all the achievements  and the gains achieved by the women’s revolution in NE, Syria have become a source of hope, courage, and strength for all women of the world, based on our historical heritage, our civilizational values, and our lofty principles that brought us together as women fighters and advocates of freedom and democracy.”
