Women of Ain Issa decry participation of murderers at "Victory Conference"

The women of Ain Issa denounced the presence of the assassin of political figure Hevrin Khalaf, along with perpetrators of heinous crimes against Syria’s diverse communities, at a political gathering held in Damascus. They expressed profound dismay at the international community’s silence regarding these criminals.

The Kongra Star in the city of Ain Issa issued a statement denouncing the participation of criminal mercenaries affiliated with the Turkish occupiers in the "Victory Conference" held in the capital. This event was attended by numerous leaders of the Turkish occupation's mercenaries, who have committed heinous crimes against the local population in the occupied areas of Syria, particularly in Afrin, Tel Abyad (Kri Spi), and Ras al-Ain (Serê Kaniyê).

The statement, read by Kongra Star administrator Latifa Al-Dahesh, explicitly condemned the presence of war criminals, including Mohammed Al-Jasim (known as Abu Amsha), a notorious mercenary leader implicated in murder, abduction, sexual violence, and other grave human rights violations in occupied territories. Additionally, it decried the participation of Hatem Abu Shakra, the assassin of the martyred politician Hevrin Khalaf and her companions in 2019, whose bodies were subsequently desecrated.

The statement denounced this political maneuver as an attempt to legitimize war criminals by integrating them into the framework of Syria’s new state structure, while disregarding the atrocities they have perpetrated against the Syrian people.

Further, the declaration condemned the international community’s inaction in the face of these crimes and called for immediate legal measures against the perpetrators. Following the statement’s reading, attendees resoundingly chanted:

"No to the murderers of the Syrian people!"

"No to the murderers of women!"
