Women from Jazira demand physical freedom for Leader Ocalan

Yesterday, Kongra Star organized a march in the city of Hasakah calling for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, with the participation of women from Hasakah, Al-Shaddadi, Tal Tamr, Al-Darbasiyah, Tal Brak, and Al-Hol.

On the sidelines of the march, ANHA agency spoke with several participants. Farqa Mohammed from Al-Darbasiyah said: “We, as women, are here today to demand the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan; he is the leader of freedom and peace. We are ready to give everything we have for his release. The leader’s freedom is the freedom of society, not only for the Kurdish community but for all communities.”

Meanwhile, Heba Ali from the town of Al-Arisha, affiliated with Al-Shaddadi, said: “Our presence here today as women from all communities is a message that the leader is already free through his thought and philosophy. The clearest proof is our freedom of expression here. We call on international organizations to intervene to ensure his physical release.”

For her part, Suad Abdullah from Al-Arisha said that the leader “illuminated the path of freedom, especially for women,” urging the international community to take action.

Asiya Mohammed highlighted the role of Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s thought in empowering women to participate actively in society, saying that women “have taken great strides toward freedom thanks to his thought and philosophy,” adding, “This land is ours; we have sacrificed much for it and will never abandon it.”

Meanwhile, Hadiya Mohammed from Hasakah said: “We will remain steadfast until our leader is free. We are ready to make all sacrifices in order to meet him. We will not accept that he remains imprisoned physically for decades.”

The participants called on international and human rights organizations to “exert pressure to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan,” affirming that his freedom represents a real value in the struggle to defend women’s rights and public freedoms in the region.
