The Kurdish parties, organizations, institutions, and figures in Rojava have been discussing the issue of unity and building a political stance since 2012. These discussions sometimes intensify and accelerate, and at other times slow down, depending on the events and developments at each stage, but they remain ongoing.

The rapid developments in Syria and the region, especially after the fall of the Ba'ath regime, have brought this issue back to the forefront, making it the top agenda for the Kurds.

Based on this, Kurdish parties, organizations, and figures began negotiating again last November, with the main agenda being to hold a national conference and build a unified political stance. To achieve this, a preparatory committee was formed, consisting of representatives from parties, organizations, and independent figures.

The committee met with many parties, held various meetings, and listened to opinions and comments. As a result of these discussions, a common position emerged to hold the conference, but this path was not easy.

Many opinions have emerged regarding the conference date so far, but each time different obstacles appeared, leading to its postponement. At times, parties exchanged blame and accusations, citing various reasons. The media covered some topics, but the more detailed discussions took place behind the scenes, where the internal and external obstacles were assessed, which the concerned parties did not wish to disclose through the media.

The continuous postponement of the conference has caused dissatisfaction and criticism from the community, which has put pressure on the concerned parties to expedite their meetings. As a result of the intensive meetings held earlier this year, an agreement was reached at the beginning of this month to hold the conference, and it was decided about a week later to hold the conference on April 18 of this month.

The decision quickly became a topic of discussion in other parts of Kurdistan and in foreign media. Additionally, there was great enthusiasm in Rojava for holding the conference, but on April 16, just two days before the scheduled date, the announcement was made to postpone the conference.

Officials attributed the reason for the postponement to technical matters, without disclosing the details.

As soon as the conference was postponed, discussions began and opinions varied about it, as some consider that the disputes between the parties have not been fully resolved yet, while others expect it to be held soon. The sources that provided us with this information did not wish to disclose their names, but the debate continues.

On the other hand, officials from the Kurdish National Council made interesting media statements. The spokesperson for the Kurdish National Council, Faisal Yusuf, told (KANAL 8) that they have not completed their preparations yet, but he said something else interesting. He claimed that they have not set a date for the conference yet, saying: "We have not set a date yet to postpone it, and we will set the date as soon as the preparations are complete."

Rumors continue without any party announcing a confirmed date yet, leaving the question "When will the conference be held?"
