Unity of Kurdish Rank Conference is great opportunity for us
One of the representatives of the Yazidis at the "Unity of Kurdish Position and Ranks in Rojava Kurdistan" Conference, Adnan Kalo, affirmed that this conference represents a major opportunity for the Yazidi community to strengthen their unity and position.
Adnan Kalo, the member of the Organizing Committee of the "Unity of Kurdish Position and Ranks in Rojava Kurdistan" Conference and the member of the Supreme Coordination of the Union of Yazidis in Syria, spoke in an interview with ANHA Agency about the importance of this conference for the Yazidi community.
Kalo congratulated the Kurdish people and the families of the martyrs on the convening of the conference, noting that the Kurdish community had been in desperate need of such a conference for many years. He pointed out that despite the many revolutions and uprisings in the history of Kurdistan, no real Kurdish political unity had been established, nor were there serious efforts to achieve it.
He explained that this conference represents a historic moment, as for the first time, Yazidis are officially represented in Syria as a distinct entity, stressing that the Yazidi community is among the key contributors to this unity.
Kalo added that the Yazidis, throughout their history in the Middle East, were subjected to systematic campaigns of extermination without receiving any support from social or political forces. He concluded by saying: "Today we have a great opportunity. Thanks to the July 19 Revolution, we Yazidis now have a tangible presence everywhere."
