KOBANI

A ten-member delegation from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP) visited the city of Kobani on Thursday.

The delegation met with representatives from the water, health, electricity, education, internet, and economic sectors, as the institutions' representatives shared with the delegation the effects of the siege imposed on the city by factions of the Syrian Interim Government, and the conditions of the displaced people, urging them to closely monitor the situation and provide the necessary response.

After discussing the situation in Kobani under tight siege, the delegation visited schools, kindergartens, bakeries, and mosques where displaced people are sheltering, and observed their conditions.
