Under siege… Mass rally in Kobani

Residents of the Euphrates Canton held a mass rally in Martyr Aqid Square to condemn the attacks on the city of Kobani and the siege imposed on it.

The rally began with a minute of silence, followed by a speech delivered by Syrian Democratic Forces leader Jamil Mazloum.

Jamil Mazloum, who had been besieged inside Al-Aqtan Prison and was recently released, stated that the resistance carried out inside the prison was among the strongest forms of resistance.

He said: “The enemy is attacking from all directions, and what is required of our people is to stand behind their fighters and support the resistance without hesitation. Today, we are facing a decisive stage related to existence or annihilation. Therefore, we must strengthen our resistance and increase our power.”

Mazloum noted that after leaving Al-Aqtan Prison, they headed to Kobani to stand with their people and defend them, saying:

“We will never abandon our people. We came to Kobani because we know it is besieged from all four directions. We are in a defensive position and have not launched any attacks against anyone so far, but the enemy is attacking us and our people in a treacherous manner.”

He concluded with a call, saying:

“Our people must stand behind their fighters and reinforce the strength of resistance and struggle in order to defeat the enemy’s plans and objectives.” The rally ended with chants of:

“Resistance is life” and “Long live the resistance of Kobani.”
