The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a UNDOF patrol conducted a field tour on Wednesday, departing from the town of Sa'sa' towards Mazra'at Beit Jinn in the western countryside of Damascus, amid the patrol remaining in the area.

These movements were preceded by Israeli helicopter flights over the area near Beit Jinn, without any clear information regarding the nature of the mission or the reasons behind this simultaneous activity.

The patrol's movement comes days after the Israeli operation in the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside, which resulted in the killing of 13 people and injuring more than 25 others. According to the Observatory, this is the first such patrol in the area.

UNDOF is a United Nations observer force established in 1974 to monitor the implementation of the disengagement agreement between Syria and Israel following the October War. Its mission focuses on monitoring the ceasefire and overseeing the buffer zone in the Golan, without having combat powers.
