Two simultaneous attacks by ISIS mercenary cells thwarted in Deir ez-Zor countryside 

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a public statement today regarding the thwarting of two ISIS attacks on its forces in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. The statement read: 

"For the second day in a row, our forces thwarted attacks by ISIS terrorist cells on our forces' positions and posts in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. 

Yesterday, Monday, our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, thwarted two simultaneous attacks by ISIS terrorist cells on the towns of Dhiban and Al-Shuhail in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. 

The first attack took place last night, Monday/Tuesday, by a terrorist cell affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization, on a military post belonging to the Dhiban Brigade. The terrorist cell used RPGs in the attack, while another cell, at the same time, carried out another attack on a post belonging to our forces in the town of Al-Shuhail using PKCs and Kalashnikov rifles. 

Due to the vigilance of our fighters, they repelled both attacks and clashed with the attacking terrorist cells, forcing them to flee under the fire of our forces. Neither attack resulted in any casualties among our forces, while casualties were reported among the attacking terrorist elements, but their numbers have not been confirmed. 

Our forces affirm their continued work and struggle to pursue the remnants of the remaining ISIS cells, strike their  hideouts, and rid the region and the world of their evil and terrorism.”
