Two injured in aerial strike in rural Sweida

Two people were wounded in an aerial strike carried out by a drone belonging to the transitional government forces in the western countryside of Sweida.

The attack took place at dawn today, when a drone targeted the town of al-Majdal in the western countryside of Sweida, leaving two people injured.

According to local sources, the strike originated from positions of the transitional government forces stationed in villages around the administrative outskirts of Sweida. The attack caused material damage and sparked a state of tension and caution in the town.

The strike coincided with a similar attack on the villages of Kanaker west of the city, amid reports that one of the drones involved in the raid was downed, though no official confirmation has been issued so far.

It is worth noting that Sweida and its countryside have witnessed sporadic violations of the ceasefire agreement reached in July of this year between the transitional government forces in Syria and the Druze National Guard, following an offensive by the latter that left more than 2,000 people dead and hundreds kidnapped.
