Turkish mercenaries extort families of abducted women for large sums of money

The abduction of the two Kurdish young women, Norman Jalal Sarhan from the city of Derik, who resides in Germany, and Fatima Saleh from the city of Kobani, has sparked widespread public outrage, with calls to disclose their whereabouts and secure their immediate release.

According to local sources, the young women were abducted during their visit to the city of Aleppo on September 13, after which all contact with them was lost when they entered areas under the control of the Syrian Transitional Government.

Information indicates that the women were kidnapped by mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and taken to the city of Shieh in occupied Afrin, specifically to one of the bases of the mercenary group known as the “Sultan Suleiman Shah Division / Al-Amshat.”

Sources explained that the families of the young women have received repeated calls from the abductors via Norman’s Instagram account, demanding a large ransom for their release.

It is worth noting that Norman, who holds German citizenship, had returned to Syria to visit her family in Derik before heading to Aleppo with her friend Fatima in a black 2015 Mohave jeep, carrying $20,000 USD with her.
