Tülay Hatimoğllari: Kurdish issue is Gateway out of Mid-east labyrinth

During the parliamentary group meeting, HDP co-chair Tülay Hatimoğllari evaluated the events on the agenda and called for the transfer of the body of the poet Nazim Hikmet to Turkey.

She said, "In order to build lasting peace, we must take a step forward. It is extremely important to revive memory and confront history."

Tülay Hatimoğllari  pointed to international and regional events, saying, "In a region that has become an arena of conflict and competition between regional and international powers, we witness new events every day. The events taking place in Gaza today, as we mentioned earlier, are the deepest pain point in human history. As for the events taking place here, they are full of lessons for the future."

She continued: "International law has become ink on paper, devoid of standards. Resolving this issue in Palestine will resolve many issues and contribute to achieving peace. On the other hand, with the support of Britain and the United States, and under the leadership of the Gulf states and Israel, a new era of wars and crises has begun, while the geopolitical structure of the region is undergoing a chaotic transformation. Internal dynamics, balances of power, and the roles of actors are changing radically. As the saying goes, the external appearance remains constant, but the internal one is changing rapidly.

Kurdish geopolitics is the gateway out of the maze

Recently, three major points have emerged in the Middle East: the strong influence of global powers in the region, local power struggles, and the crisis of popular representation.

The Kurdish issue, which plays a crucial role in resolving many of the region's complex geopolitical problems, is the gateway to the Middle East's maze. Whoever ignores this door is doomed to get lost in this maze. Therefore, the importance of the Kurdish reality for Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and the entire region is once again highlighted in a historic way.

Turkey's Visit to Rojava

Turkey's geostrategic location and history have elevated its role in the region to a critical level. It is absolutely essential for Turkey to play a leadership and mediating role in regional peace and problem-solving. The region needs this. This approach will benefit Turkish society and make a significant contribution to regional peace. We firmly believe this. For example, Turkey could visit Rojava and host administrations from there in Ankara or Rojava.

This is not only for internal peace in Turkey.

This will make a significant contribution to advancing the peace process with positive steps. This is not only for Kurdish and Turkish peace, but also for internal Turkish peace.

We reiterate that we consider this issue extremely important and constantly raise it. These steps will contribute significantly to peace in Turkey and the region. We reiterate our call: Let us build peace together. At the same time, let us build regional peace together. Let us build a democratic Turkey and a democratic republic together.
