Transitional government continues scenario of coast, Jaramana, and Sweida in NE Syria

In a move described as a repetition of already exposed tactics aimed at incitement, the Syrian transitional government, through its Ministry of Defense, sought to justify the attack launched by the Turkish occupation's "National Army" mercenaries on the Deir Hafer area by accusing the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of carrying out previous shelling of its positions in the area.

"Undisciplined factions" affiliated with the Syrian transitional government, as the SDF described them, attacked the countryside of the Deir Hafer area in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo with artillery and rocket shells.

The SDF, in a clarification published last night, described this as a continuation of the repeated provocations and attacks on the contact areas in the Deir Hafer area.

The SDF confirmed that its forces responded to these sources of fire as part of their right to self-defense.

The transitional government's scenario is an extension of a pattern that has been repeated in several areas of Syria, according to observers. Previously, transitional government forces, with the support of foreign extremist groups, launched attacks on the Syrian coast on the night of March 6-7, claiming they were being targeted by "remnants of the former regime." They subsequently committed massacres against hundreds of civilians in those areas, displacing residents and destroying entire villages.

Jaramana and Sweida later witnessed a repeat of the same pattern. Bloody attacks were documented in Jaramana in late April, and in Sweida since July 13, claiming the lives of hundreds of people, most of them women and children. These attacks were accompanied by systematic looting and destruction of civilian property, with the government claiming they were being targeted by "outlaw groups."

Analysts believe that this scenario, despite its clarity and lack of legal or moral support, cannot be implemented to target NE Syria. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and its local Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac components possess the organizational capacity and clear vision to manage the situation and protect local communities from these schemes and attempts to advance them.

The SDF considered the attempts of the Transitional Government's Ministry of Defense to distort facts and mislead public opinion a step that does not serve security and stability, especially in light of the SDF's commitment to the utmost restraint in the face of repeated attacks and provocations by these factions. These factions have continued to dig trenches and transfer fighters over the past period, confirming their intentions for escalation.

The SDF also emphasized the need to respect the truce agreements, calling on the Transitional Government to rein in its affiliated factions, assume its responsibilities, and work to control the undisciplined factions operating under its control.
