The security forces detained more than 20 people in Al-Nayrab Camp, including relatives of a Palestinian young man who was shot and killed by one of the forces’ members a few days ago.

The forces imposed a nighttime curfew in the camp, which was lifted this morning. According to informed sources, these measures came amid rising security tensions following the kidnapping and stabbing of two transitional government members inside the camp by unknown assailants, prompting the forces to storm the area using armored vehicles, with a heavy deployment around the camp.

Local sources confirmed that the operation followed the killing of the Palestinian young man and the subsequent public protests during his funeral.

On September 27, the camp witnessed a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a Palestinian youth and the injury of another, without any official clarification regarding the cause of the incident, sparking public outrage and calls for a transparent investigation and accountability.

Al-Nayrab Camp is one of the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, located near Aleppo, and is considered one of the largest camps in the region. It was established in 1949 and hosts thousands of refugees.
