Transitional Government again closes roads leading to Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyeh

The Syrian Transitional Government has once again closed all roads connecting the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh to Aleppo city, as they are seven main roads; "Talaat al-Ashrafiyeh, al-Jazira, al-Ashrafiyeh Park, al-Shihan Roundabout Road, al-Awarid Road, al-Lairamoun Roundabout, and al-Jandoul Roundabout."

On December 25, the Transitional Government reopened two roads connecting the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods to Aleppo (al-Shihan and al-Awarid), but it closed all roads leading to the two neighborhoods again after launching heavy attacks last Friday.

Factions affiliated with the Transitional Government are also preventing civilians from returning to the two neighborhoods in the vicinity of al-Awarid Road, allowing them only to leave.

Furthermore, factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government continue to amass heavy equipment and weapons, including tanks, in the vicinity of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods in Aleppo.

The two neighborhoods were subjected to attacks launched by the Transitional Government factions on December 22, which resulted in the martyrdom of the citizen Fadwa Mohamed al-Kurdi (57 years old), and the injury of 19 civilians, in addition to six members of the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo.
