Thwarting terrorist attack by ISIS cells in Hasaka

Today, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria issued a statement in which it revealed the thwarting of a terrorist attack by an ISIS cell in the city of Hasaka, in Al-Jazira Canton     

The statement said: “As part of the attempts of the terrorist organization ISIS to destabilize the security and stability of the region, one of its cells targeted a patrol of our forces in the Habbo lands area in the city of Hasaka, within Al-Jazira Canton. The cell members used three motorcycles and threw two hand grenades at the patrol.

And added, "Thanks to the vigilance of our forces, the attack was responded to immediately, resulting in the killing of one of the terrorist cell members at the site, and the arrest of two other members after a short clash, while our forces continue combing operations within the area."

The statement stressed that "our forces continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the region and thwart any attempts aimed at threatening the stability and safety of civilians."
