Thousands salute Leader Abdullah Ocalan

On Sunday, thousands marched in their national and traditional costumes towards Esenyurt Square in the Turkish city of Istanbul, chanting the slogan “Long live Leader APO” to join the mass meeting called by the People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Partî), under the title “Democracy and Freedom Rally”, and saluted the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Partî) is organizing in Esenyurt Square in the Turkish city of Istanbul a "Freedom and Democracy Rally" with the aim of supporting the "Great Freedom march" demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, who is detained under strict isolation in a high-security Imrali prison, and has not received any response. No information for more than 36 months, as well as demands for a solution to the Kurdish issue, and thousands of people flock to the rally square.

There is still time for the mass meeting, but thousands have begun to flock to the designated square, raising flags bearing the colors of green, red, and yellow, and wearing traditional and national costumes. Great enthusiasm prevails in the square, as ululations continue and the participants continue to applaud, and citizens enter the meeting square through two different police checkpoints. While they chanted more than once in the square where the flags of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party were hung, the slogans “Women, Life, Freedom” and “Long live the resistance to prisons.”

The meeting square, where people began to gather, was filled with great enthusiasm, and the participants held Dabka to the tunes of the People’s Equality and Democracy Party’s election songs and Kurdish songs.

In the same context, people from 39 districts of Istanbul took to the road towards Assembly Square, where convoys of hundreds of cars arrived there.
