QAMISHLO

At dawn today, the third group of Afrin IDPs departed from Qamishlo city as part of organized return convoys to their areas, following years of displacement.

Dozens of buses and trucks departed from the western outskirts of Qamishlo, where returnees had gathered at Martyr Youssef Kalo Roundabout.

This step comes in line with ongoing efforts to implement the January 29, 2026 agreement, which aims to facilitate the safe return of IDPs.

The first convoy returned on March 9, including around 400 families, followed by a second group of approximately 200 families on April 4.

The latest movement marks a continuation of these return efforts, with expectations that additional families will follow in the coming period.
