7 people were killed and injured after a landmine exploded beneath a vehicle carrying civilians in the eastern Hama desert, as they were searching for truffles.

Local sources reported that a vehicle carrying seven members of the same family from al-Sawaeq neighborhood exploded in the eastern countryside of Hama, in the Tal Salma area, while they were searching for truffles. According to available information, the blast—caused by a landmine—killed three children instantly, while the remaining injured were transferred to hospital for treatment. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the victims were between 16 and 17 years old, 

The incident comes amid repeated landmine explosions across the Syrian desert, which continue to claim civilian lives, particularly during the truffle-hunting season.
