The Council of Martyrs' Families in the city of Tel Tamr issued a statement—read at the Council’s headquarters by Co-chair Çinar Saleh—in the presence of dozens of martyrs' relatives, members of civil society organizations, and representatives of political parties.

In its statement, the Council condemned the crime committed against fighter Sipan Hazni and warned against using the incident as a pretext for extrajudicial revenge or retaliation, noting the potential repercussions that could threaten civil peace and the social fabric.

The Council emphasized that the martyr Sipan was performing his duty to protect community security and combat smuggling, and that targeting him constituted a clear-cut crime.

It strongly rejected attempts to frame the incident as a matter of "tribal vendetta," pointing out that the prior case linked to this incident had already been resolved and closed under the mediation of local notables and tribal elders.

The Council warned that addressing crimes through a mindset of revenge and retaliation—rather than resorting to judicial and security institutions—could widen the scope of chaos and threaten social stability.

It emphasized that safeguarding lives and preventing strife is a responsibility shared by all parties.

The Council of Martyrs' Families called upon security and judicial institutions to intervene, pursue those involved in the killing of Sipan, bring them to justice, and ensure they face legal penalties. It also urged the region's tribal sheikhs and notables to play their part in defusing tensions and curbing rhetoric that incites conflict or stokes tribal discord.

Separately, the statement addressed the events in the city of Kobani, asserting that the incident inside the prison—which resulted in casualties—was deliberately instigated and premeditated

The statement accused intelligence agencies of orchestrating these events—placing Turkey at the forefront of those responsible—with the aim of obstructing the integration process.

The Council urged the community to remain vigilant and cautious, to avoid being drawn into attempts to incite strife and internal conflict, and to uphold the historic ties between Arab tribes and the Kurdish community—relationships rooted in centuries of coexistence.

In its conclusion, the statement emphasized the need to honor the achievements and sacrifices of the martyrs, safeguard civil peace, prevent disputes and security incidents from escalating into communal conflicts, and build a Syrian homeland that embraces all its components and segments, governed by justice and the rule of law.
