The meeting, held in the Kanir Hall in central Tal Tamr, brought together a large number of Arab, Kurdish, and Syriac-Assyrian tribal leaders, along with representatives of different social components.

The session opened with a minute of silence in honor of the fallen. Later, Amad Tal Tamr, the commander in the Military Council, delivered a briefing on the latest political and military developments, particularly the ongoing threats against the region by hostile forces seeking to undermine its stability.

He underlined that “despite all difficulties, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) remain the protective shield of North and East Syria, committed to preventing the return of chaos and terrorism, and faithful to the sacrifices of the martyrs.”

Role of Tribes in Preserving Civil Peace

For their part, tribal leaders voiced strong positions, emphasizing that their communities have long been an integral part of the SDF’s fabric.

They pledged continued support to safeguard the region from external threats, stressing the need to consolidate community solidarity and reject attempts to sow discord. “The strength and cohesion of society are the cornerstone for preserving stability and ensuring a safe future for our children,” they affirmed.

The attendees unanimously agreed that maintaining this diverse social fabric is the most powerful weapon against division, stressing that coexistence is not a temporary arrangement but a lasting source of strength.

Beyond local coordination, the participants sent clear messages both domestically and internationally: unity must be preserved, small disputes must be set aside in the face of greater challenges, and the peoples of North and East Syria are capable of protecting themselves.

They underlined that any political settlement bypassing their will would be fragile and destined to fail.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold such gatherings on a regular basis, ensuring ongoing communication and cooperation between the SDF and local tribes to confront future challenges together.
