Following the historic call for "Peace and a Democratic Society" made by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27 of this year, the third phase of the "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue" campaign was launched under the title "I Want to Meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

In this context, ANHA's agency met with a number of residents of Tal Tamer, in the Al-Jazeera Canton in North and East Syria, to gain their opinions and positions on the new phase of the campaign.

Citizen Nihad Shandi said, "Out of the people of the world's belief in the cause of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the 'I Want to Meet Leader Ocalan' campaign was launched in Europe. We, the people of North and East Syria, aim to meet the leader. Seeing him is a wish that we will strive to fulfill."

Nihad Shandi called on all people of the world to join the campaign, adding, "We, the people of North and East Syria, call on all people of the world to join the campaigns and activities demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, because his physical freedom is the key to resolving the crises in the Middle East and the world as a whole."

For his part, citizen Izz al-Din Ibrahim Hussein affirmed that they, as the people of Tal Tamr, support this campaign. He said, "We announce our joining of the campaign for the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we want to meet him as soon as possible, because his freedom is the freedom of all peoples."

He added, "Putting Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali Prison and applying torture and genocide against him by the occupying Turkish state is an attempt to halt the spread of his ideology and philosophy. However, this did not prevent this ideology from spreading among the peoples of the region, who became inspired by it."

Citizen Hedla Abdul Wahab emphasized the connection between women's freedom and the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, saying, "We see that a campaign has been launched in Europe demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we, the women of Rojava, want his physical freedom. Our freedom as women is the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

She concluded her remarks by saying, "We, the women of Rojava, are indebted to Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his ideas and philosophy, which inspired us to transform from women who suffered from a patriarchal mentality and oppression into activists striving to assert their existence and achieve their freedom."
