The statement expressed deep concern over the recent remarks by the U.S. envoy, stating that his comments "contradict his role as a mediator to bridge viewpoints and are inconsistent with the positive role played by the United States in achieving security and stability in Syria."

The statement categorically rejected these remarks, adding that they "take us back to the starting point of the Syrian crisis and the reasons behind the Syrian people’s uprising in 2011, when Syrians of all affiliations called for freedom, dignity, and justice, rejecting the authoritarian centralized system and demanding a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized state for all citizens without discrimination."

The statement highlighted the efforts of the components of northern and eastern Syria over the past years to build an administrative model based on Democratic Autonomous Administration, emphasizing that this model "has provided security and stability for millions of citizens, including Arabs, Kurds, Syriac Assyrians, Turkmen, and Armenians, Muslims, Christians, and Yazidis, and has created civil institutions representing the will of the region’s people, alongside a national military role played by the Syrian Democratic Forces in combating terrorism and defending human values in partnership with the international coalition."

The statement also addressed the March 10, 2025, agreement between the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the transitional phase, Ahmad al-Sharaa, stressing "the importance of reaching a comprehensive political solution through negotiations among all parties, based on a vision rooted in a firm belief that Syria cannot be rebuilt through domination or denial, but through mutual recognition and dialogue." It further noted that this agreement "gained widespread popular support and regional and international backing, as it represents a qualitative step toward rebuilding Syria on the foundations of partnership, pluralism, justice, and decentralization."

The statement affirmed full support for the negotiating delegation representing NE Syria, "carrying a societal will built on a clear political foundation that ensures the rights of all Syrians and protects the self-administration model as part of Syria’s new future." It added: "All these sacrifices cannot be reduced to superficial calls for integration into institutions that have not undergone genuine political reform, which is unacceptable and rejected."

The statement concluded: "The success of any negotiation process is based on the principle of true partnership and respect for the specificities of both sides. Therefore, we believe that Syria’s future must be written by the hands of its sons and daughters from all components, based on recognition, justice, and partnership, not through guardianship or dictates."
