Syrian media: explosions sounded in Damascus vicinity

Syrian media reported that an Israeli attack targeted the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus, today, amid successive loud explosions being heard in the city.

Sources reported that several explosions were heard in the Kafr Sussa area on the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and columns of smoke were seen rising from the area.

 The official agency affiliated with the Damascus government also said that “an Israeli aggression targeted the Kafr Sussa residential area in Damascus this morning.”

Local Syrian television announced that Israel launched a new attack with a number of missiles on the capital, Damascus.

The channel reported that the Israeli attack targeted the Kafr Sussa residential neighborhood in the capital, Damascus. The neighborhood includes the headquarters of many security services, and was targeted in an Israeli attack in February 2023, which led to the killing of Iranian military experts.

In turn, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that violent explosions rocked Damascus as a result of the targeting of a pro-Iranian figure.
