Syriac Union Party, Syrian Democratic Alliance Sign MoU in Damascus

Today, the Syriac Union Party and the Syrian Democratic Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the headquarters of the Syriac Union Party in Damascus, in the presence of delegations from both sides. The agreement marked the culmination of a series of meetings focused on developments in Syria and a shared vision for the country's future.

The Syriac Union Party delegation included Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum, Executive Committee member Gabriel Shamoun, and Public Relations Officer Ephrem Isaac. The Syrian Democratic Alliance was represented by Executive Office member and Head of the Communications Office Mohammad Shakib Al-Khaled, Head of the Damascus Office Zuhair Ajoub, and Communications Office member Ismail Al-Manawer.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues related to the situation in Syria and the principles on which the future Syrian state should be built to achieve stability and national partnership.

The Memorandum of Understanding affirmed recognition of Syria's ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity and emphasized efforts to build a democratic state that guarantees the rights of all communities, including the Syriac-Assyrian people, while ensuring their equal participation in political and national life.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination, strengthening bilateral relations, and expanding cooperation with various Syrian political forces to help formulate a shared national vision that supports the establishment of a democratic Syria founded on justice, citizenship, and partnership among all its people.
