supervisor of Iranian Foreign Ministry continues his tour in Syria by meeting with al-Assad

Bashar al-Assad met with the supervisor of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, following a meeting between the latter and the Foreign Minister of the Damascus government yesterday.

The Damascus government agency said that Bashar al-Assad met with the supervisor of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, and discussed with him bilateral relations between Damascus and Tehran, and developments in the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel since last October 7.

The agency quoted supervisor Ali Bagheri Kani as saying: “The relationship between the two countries is deep and strategic because it is based on firm principles and common and sincere interests.”

Earlier Tuesday, the Foreign Minister of the Damascus government, Faisal Miqdad, said in a joint press statement following a meeting with Bagheri Kani, that “the basic condition for any Syrian-Turkish dialogue is for Ankara to announce its readiness to withdraw from our lands that it occupies,” explaining, “We want to see precise Turkish pledges.” It reflects Turkey's commitment to withdraw from our occupied territories and stop its support for terrorist organizations.
