A Syrian military source told a media outlet that "Al-Tanf base was not targeted or shelled," emphasizing that "there is no U.S. military presence there."

The source explained that the Iranian strike on Syrian territory hit an empty desert area and did not reach the Al-Tanf region. The source also stated that U.S. forces withdrew from Al-Tanf in February and no longer maintain any military presence there.

The Syrian military sources made these remarks after the IRGC announced that it had targeted the vicinity of Al-Tanf base amid a new round of exchanges of fire between the United States and Iran.
