Today, leader Abdullah Ocalan's brother, Muhammad Ocalan, through his lawyer Mazlum Dinç, along with the brother of detainee Omer Khairi Kunar, Ali Kunar, the brother of Hamili Yildirim , Polat Yildirim, and the sister of Veysi Aktash, Meliha Aktash, submitted a new request to the Public Prosecutor's Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with the detainees.

Lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests per week to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate for these meetings. Additionally, the detainees' relatives also submit two requests per week, totaling 16 requests per month, without receiving any response.

It is worth noting that the last meeting with leader Abdullah Ocalan by his lawyers Rezan Sarica and Newroz Uysal was on August 7, 2019. Communication resumed briefly on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan that lasted five minutes before the call was cut off.

On October 23, 2024, after four years of no direct contact, leader Abdullah Ocalan met in person with his nephew Omer Ocalan. During the meeting, leader Ocalan conveyed a message stating: "The isolation continues, but if the conditions are provided, I have the theoretical and practical ability to shift this process from the grounds of conflict and violence to legal and political grounds."

Meanwhile, the system of torture and extermination in Imrali persists, and leader Abdullah Ocalan is denied his rights even as a detainee through the renewal of what Turkish authorities refer to as "disciplinary penalties."
