Siblings of Imrali detainees submit new request to meet them
The brother of leader Abdullah Ocalan, along with the siblings of other detainees at Imrali prison, has submitted a new request to the Turkish authorities for a meeting.
Today, Abdullah Ocalan's brother, Muhammad Ocalan, through his lawyer Mazlum Dinç, and the brothers of detainees Omar Khairi Kunar, Ali Kunar, and Hamili Yildirim, Bulat Yildirim, and sister of Veysi Aktaş, Meliha Aktaş, submitted the request to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and Imrali prison administration.
The lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests each week to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Imrali prison administration. The detainees' families also submit two requests weekly, totaling 16 requests each month, without receiving any response.
It is noted that the last meeting with the leader by his lawyers, Rizan Sariça and Newroz Oysal, was on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a five-minute phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan, which was then cut off.
